On the way to OBX #1
8” x 8” oil on cradled panel. A black canvas floater from can be included for an additional $25. If you have been following my work you know I get a great deal of inspiration from the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We have been so many times in the last 40 years I can’t count them all. Recently, my wife has taken the helm in the car which leaves me free to take reference photos out the window. There is beautiful country between Richmond and OBX. This painting is the first in a series where I will explore the landscape as it rushes by the camera lens at 60 MPH. It’s a much looser way for me to paint. It’s good for me, in that it forces to me to look at things in a more abstract way, but still keep my painting grounded in the truth of color.
